Aww, thanks for all the loves and encouragement, guys! I have to say that your comments definitely make a difference to me. :)
To answer Dominoe's and Jentry's suggestions -- I would like to post recipes some of the days, I'm just not sure which days. But it makes me feel so happy that you are interested!
Day Two went really well, although dinnertime had to be postponed for half an hour due to some initiation ceremony that occurred behind a closed door in the basement. And they were all wearing white. I asked one of the girls about what initiation involves, and she was oddly evasive about it...maybe it's better to just stick with questions of the "How was school today?" variety.
Along with tonight's quiche, salad, and garlic bread, I set out a survey about the girls' likes, dislikes, and what they're willing to try. Pasta and potatoes came out on top of the "favorite foods" list by miles, and apparently, if I want to kill them, I should feed them fish.
So lemme ask you, then -- if you were them, what would you want for dinner?

Pulled Pork Buns...You know, "Bronco Burgers"! They would also love baked pasta, which might be easier. Not so much last-minute preparation.
I'm a big fan of marinated, grilled meat in the summer with corn on the cob and watermelon or cantalope. In the winter, I like soup. I'm a simple cook. Ooo, I also dig roasted potatoes and peppers - as long as there isn't any rosemary. Me no like rosemary. I like pasta, I'm not surprised that was high on the list.
I think you should work your vegetarian magic on them. I had some awesome chick pea soup yesterday that made me want to live in India forever. When I was a freshman my roommate was "rushing/initiating" for a soroity (didn't have a house kind) and it lasted like a month. She couldn't wear certain clothes, couldn't go outside at certain times, couldn't be seen with certain people. I don't see the appeal.
I'm up for anything I didn't have to cook...okay maybe that's not the type of answer you were looking for but it's the first thing that came to my mind. =) Glad it's going well for you. -Jenny
Speaking of soup, we have a favorite!! Chicken broth, browned (crumbled)Italian sausage (we like spicy, but mild is probably nice to the gals...), potatoes, kale...cream if you want it. It's good with cream, but not necessary--especially if served with a good bread. Really, I just use the above combination to taste. It's fast & easy. Oh, and other greens work well if you don't have kale, but kale tastes good...sooooo....
Oh, and Stephen says to say that he likes it when we add fresh beets to above stated soup.
Now, when I lived in an all girls house we adored everything our cook came up with, so don't stress! Just enjoy the creative juices flowing through your brain. Ahhhhhh.
