Thinking Happy Thoughts

It's that time of year again: the official death count so far in my fruit fly trap has risen to eight. I'm on the war trail.

Yesterday at Voldemart, L was screaming her brains out, and in the midst of my shooshing and bribing-with-crackers, I caught sight of a snowy-haired woman snerkling to herself about it -- in a kindly way. She said to me, "Ohh, I'd forgotten about that." I immediately thought -- and told her so -- that I'm glad there comes a time in life when you CAN laugh about that!

Also at Voldemart, I found some beautiful dusty-plum lightweight (or is it just cheap?) jersey fabric for $2 a yard. I also picked up some patterns at JoAnn yesterday (all their Simplicity patterns are on sale for 1.99, yee haw!) and am going to make this shirt with this alteration. It's my first time altering anything that radical, and I'm kind of nervous about it.
