Baby sleepeth. Must be swift.
I succumbed to two of the gorgeous fabrics at Red Rooster today. The top one is for sleeve bindings and other pretty things on the shirt pictured below, and the bottom one is for a little skirt for Little Miss.
I have a (growing) list of sewing hurdles I want to defeat: buttonholes, bias tape, hemming, properly preparing fabrics, etc. I checked off one of them today: sewing on buttons. Granted, I haven't yet sewed on buttons to match buttonholes I actually made myself (there are no buttonholes here), but I think that counts as a separate list item, don't you? This is a shirt I am working on and will hopefully finish tomorrow.
Finally, thanks to Jentry, who unloaded the contents of her freezer on us before moving to Nebraska, I have a new guilty pleasure excellent reason to eat more vegetables: frozen quartered artichokes. I am of the drown-me-in-butter, hold-the-mayo school when it comes to artichokes, and these are no exception. Yum.
Baby waketh. Must run!

I want to learn to sew! You inspire me. Have you seen the semi-latest knitting post on towards sustainability? I love the lavender color in the shirt. I'm very happy that our feeble attempts at eating more veggies has benefited your sweet family.
Way cute fabric! Can't wait to see your finished shirt and skirt!
Me love artichokes. :)
